CA Detailing’srange of car snow foam and per wash products lift dirt, grime, and road film, preparing your vehicle for a safer, swirl-free wash. Suitable for enthusiasts and professionals, the foam clings, loosens, and rinses away contaminants. Essential for daily cars or ceramic-coated supercars, snow foam ensures a deep, effective, and safe clean.
Apply snow foam directly to the dry dirty car. On a dry panel the product soaks into and around the road film, the same way dry blotting paper absorbs liquid. If you rinse first, the road film is already saturated and the pre-wash chemistry cannot penetrate as effectively. The one exception is summer heat: a quick rinse to cool hot panels before foaming prevents the product flashing off too quickly.
How do I know if my snow foam has actually cleaned the paint?
After rinsing, swipe your finger across the panel. If the paint feels clean and leaves no visible dirt line on your finger, the pre-wash has done its job. If you can still see a dirt line, the pre-wash has not lifted enough contamination and you risk dragging that residual film around during the contact wash and picking it up on the drying towel.
Is a pH-neutral snow foam strong enough for UK winter road film?
No. Cleaning power tracks pH, and a pH-neutral snow foam does very little chemical work on bonded road grime. The pressure-washer rinse does most of the lifting rather than the foam. For UK winter road salt and traffic film, switch to a strong alkaline pre-wash such as Koch Chemie Super Foam, Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam, or Bilt Hamber Touch-Less at 2% PIR. pH-neutral foams are fine for lighter summer dust on a regularly maintained car.
How long should snow foam dwell before rinsing?
Four to five minutes is enough for the foam to lift bonded contamination on a normally soiled car. On a larger vehicle or one with lots of crevices, foam one half of the car, work it, rinse it, then foam the other half. Most snow foams give 5 to 10 minutes of active dwell before they start to dry on the panel, so do not leave them longer than needed in warm or sunny conditions.
Can I use a pump sprayer instead of a foam cannon for snow foam?
Yes. The foam is a delivery mechanism, not the cleaning mechanism itself. The same snow foam product applied via a foam cannon, a hand pump foamer, or a plain trigger sprayer in a fan pattern does the same chemical work. Foam just keeps the solution in contact with the panel longer, which is particularly helpful on a hot day when a liquid spray would dry out before it has time to react.
