What is 3D Car Care known for?
3D is an American manufacturer whose reputation rests on its correction range, and the ACA compound series is the part professionals buy: ACA 500 and 510 for cutting, both rated to remove P1000 sanding marks, and ACA 520 as the finishing polish. Alongside that sits a full retail range including Pink Car Soap shampoo, BDX iron and brake dust remover, Final Touch quick detailer, LVP interior cleaner and Bead It Up as a spray-on hydrophobic protectant.
Which 3D compound should I use?
Work from the least aggressive that will do the job. ACA 520 is the finishing polish for refining and removing light defects. ACA 510 is the premium cutting compound and ACA 500 the extra-cutting version, both capable of clearing P1000 sanding marks, which puts them in body shop territory. If you want one bottle rather than a system, 3D One is the hybrid compound and finishing polish, and Speed is the all-in-one that also leaves protection behind.
What is 3D One and when should I use it instead of a two-step polish?
3D One is a hybrid that cuts and finishes in a single product, so it suits a car with light to moderate swirls where a full compound then polish sequence is more work than the paint needs. Use it on a dual action machine with a medium foam pad, test a small section first, and step up to the ACA compounds if the defects are not clearing. On soft paint, One on a finishing pad is often all that is required.
Is 3D Poxy a wax or a sealant?
Poxy is a Montan butter wax, so it is a wax by form and behaves like one: a warm, glossy finish that you apply thinly, allow to haze and buff off. It is not a long-life synthetic sealant and should not be judged on months of durability. Use it when the priority is the look on a car that is already in good condition, and reach for a spray sealant or ceramic product when the priority is longevity.
