Specialist PPF & Vinyl

Paint protection film (PPF) and vinyl wraps need products formulated for them. The wrong shampoo can dry out and lift the film’s edges, gloss additives can stain or haze matte wraps, and aggressive tar removers and cutting polishes can damage the surface. This collection leads with our dedicated PPF and vinyl range — coatings, washes, maintenance sprays and polishes from Gyeon, Sonax and Gtechniq — followed by the pH-neutral pre-washes and shampoos that are safe for everyday maintenance of wrapped and filmed cars. PPF & vinyl wrap care guide

How to care for PPF & vinyl wraps
  • Wash with a pH-neutral shampoo. Avoid strongly alkaline or acidic cleaners and "wash & wax" gloss shampoos, which can dry the film's edges or stain matte wraps.
  • Pre-wash first. A pH-neutral snow foam lifts grit before contact, reducing the wash marring that shows easily on film and satin wraps.
  • Keep pressure-washer and snow-foam lances back from film and wrap edges and seams — high pressure can creep under and lift them.
  • Deal with bugs, bird droppings, tar and sap quickly using a dedicated PPF/vinyl-safe cleaner; their acids and solvents can stain or etch the film.
  • Protect with a coating made for film and vinyl (e.g. Gyeon Q² PPF EVO or Gtechniq HALO) — standard paint coatings can be too hard for flexible film and can dull matte finishes.
  • Avoid cutting compounds and aggressive polishing on wraps and matte film; use a dedicated PPF renew/polish only where suitable.
  • Always spot-test a new product on a hidden area first.
Can I use normal car shampoo on PPF and vinyl wrap?

Only if it is pH-neutral. Avoid strongly alkaline or acidic shampoos and any "wash & wax" or gloss-boosting formula — added polymers can streak on matte wraps and, over time, dry the film's adhesive edges. A dedicated PPF/vinyl wash is the safest choice.

Do I need to wax or ceramic-coat PPF or vinyl?

It is optional, but a coating made specifically for film and vinyl adds hydrophobic protection, makes cleaning far easier and helps self-healing films look their best. Use a film-specific product — ordinary paint waxes and hard ceramic coatings can be unsuitable for flexible film and can dull matte and satin finishes.

How soon after installation can I wash or coat it?

Follow your installer's guidance. As a general rule, leave a fresh wrap or PPF around 7 days before washing, and until it has fully cured before applying any coating, so trapped moisture can escape and the edges seal properly.

Can I use a pressure washer and snow foam on a wrapped car?

Yes, with care. Use a pH-neutral snow foam, keep the lance at least 30cm back, and never fire directly at film or wrap edges and seams, where high pressure can lift them. A contactless pre-wash also reduces the risk of scratching.

How do I safely remove bugs, tar and water spots from PPF or vinyl?

Use a cleaner stated as safe for PPF and wraps (such as Sonax Xtreme PPF+Vinyl Cleaner) and soften deposits before wiping — don't scrub hard. Avoid solvent-heavy tar removers and abrasive polishes on matte wraps. For light water spots or haze on gloss film, a PPF-specific renew or polish restores clarity without harming the film.
