Panel Wipe removes residual polishing oils, waxes, and residues that prevent coatings from bonding to bare paint. Removing those oils raises the surface free energy, which increases the number of available chemical bonding sites and directly improves coating durability. IPA is not a suitable substitute: IPA-based wipes only evaporate surface residue and cannot dissolve hydrocarbon polish oils. Skipping Panel Wipe or replacing it with IPA is the most common cause of poor coating adhesion.

Crystal Serum Light (CSL) is not compatible with matte, satin, or non-clear-coat paints including older cellulose finishes. C1 Crystal Lacquer is safe on all of those surfaces, making it the correct choice for any matte or satin car. CSL is also more reactive to humidity and has a shorter shelf life once opened. C1 is less reactive and slightly more forgiving. Both offer 3 to 5 years durability with proper maintenance and can be topped with EXO after a 4-hour wait.

Clean the trim thoroughly with W5 Citrus APC and a medium-stiff brush. Do not use Panel Wipe on plastic trim. The surface must be completely dry. Apply a single thin, uniform layer using the fold technique on the applicator pad. Over-application causes white powdery residue to cure into textured trim valleys. If that happens, clean the area with W5 and a brush before reapplying a thinner coat. C4 also works on rubber door seals and cures in 12 hours.

Wait 7 days before the first wash. In the first 12 hours the car must remain dry and indoors. After that, use a pH-neutral shampoo such as Gtechniq G-Wash for all ongoing maintenance washes. Avoid traffic film removers, heavy-duty degreasers, and solvent-based detergents on coated paint, as these strip the coating prematurely. Any pH-neutral shampoo works, but avoid products labelled as gloss-enhancing or wax-boosting as they can mask coating performance.
