Why is the glass-polishing step mandatory when applying Gyeon Q2 View EVO?
The glass polish in the Q2 View EVO kit is not an optional prep step. It acts as both the cleaner and the bonding agent for the coating. Skipping it means the repel coating has no bonding surface and will not adhere properly. Side and rear windows typically need two polishing passes, the windscreen three, using the supplied applicator block. Remove residue with a damp microfibre after each pass before applying the coating.
What is the difference between Gyeon Bathe and Bathe+, and which is better for regular washing?
Gyeon Bathe is the better choice for regular maintenance washes. Bathe+ has less stable foam, does not hold well over time, and does not last well over winter storage. Bathe+ works better as an occasional topper applied through a foam cannon alongside a normal wash to boost hydrophobicity, rather than as an everyday shampoo replacement.
How long do I need to wait before washing after a Gyeon paint or trim coating?
The full cure period for Gyeon paint and trim coatings is 14 days, not the 12-hour initial set. The first wash should not happen until after those 14 days are complete. For glass coatings including Q2 View EVO, avoid all washing and screenwash for 14 days as well. Only during this full cure window does the coating reach maximum hardness and durability.
What should I do if Gyeon Mohs EVO develops high spots after curing?
Cured high spots on Mohs EVO cannot be buffed off by hand. The affected sections need machine polishing to remove the hardened residue, after which those areas must be recoated. To avoid this, inspect each panel under bright diffused lighting immediately after application before moving on. The dwell window before wipe-off is 10 to 30 seconds maximum, so work in shoulder-width sections rather than large panels at once.
