Ten metres is the practical minimum for a car, and 15m is the comfortable choice if you have a driveway or want to reach the far side without moving the machine. Anything around 6m forces a stop-start workflow where you keep repositioning the washer mid-wash. We stock replacement hoses in 5m, 6m, 10m, 15m, 20m and 30m depending on the fitment, so you can match the length to your space rather than accept whatever came in the box.

No, not at the lengths used for domestic washing. Going from 10m to 20m will not give you a noticeable drop in cleaning performance. If your machine has genuinely lost pressure, the usual cause is a worn seal in the pump rather than the hose, so check whether a service kit is available for your model before replacing anything. Buy the length that suits how you work, not the shortest one you can manage with.

It depends on the fitting at the machine, not the brand of the trigger gun. We stock hoses for Karcher K-series (the bayonet clip at the machine end), Nilfisk in both G1/2 thread and bayonet, Kranzle and other M22 machines, Titan, and a universal quick-connect version. There are also adaptors for Lavor, Ryobi, Hawksmoor, Black and Decker, Lutian, Stihl, AVA and Gerni. If you tell us the model, we will confirm the fitting before you order.

The reinforced rubber FLEXI hoses stay supple in cold weather, resist kinking and do not hold the coiled memory that makes a stock hose fight you around wheels and sills. The flexible PVC hoses cost less and are perfectly serviceable for occasional use, but they are stiffer and more prone to kinking when cold. If you wash regularly through a British winter, the reinforced rubber option is the one that stops being annoying.

Choose quick-connect if you swap between a foam lance, a rinse nozzle and a stubby gun during a wash, because it turns each change into a one-second push-fit instead of unscrewing a fitting with wet hands. A standard threaded hose is fine if your setup rarely changes. We stock quick-connect versions of several hoses plus M22 to 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch adaptor kits, so you can convert an existing hose rather than replace it.

Not usually. The hose and the gun are separate connections, so a replacement hose will fit your existing gun as long as the gun end matches. Many people upgrade both at once because the stock gun is long and awkward for wheel arches and sills, which is why we also sell Karcher K-series bundles that pair a FLEXI hose with a short trigger gun and a foam lance. If you only want the hose, the hose on its own is all you need.
