Sonax Profiline CeramicCoating CC Pro is a single coat SiO2 ceramic coating that protects paintwork for up to 4 years. It adds gloss and depth to the colour, hardens the surface against light marring and beads water tightly so dirt carries off the panel instead of bonding to it. Sonax developed it for experienced users and professional detailers, and the reaction time with the paint is deliberately short, so the excess is buffed off immediately rather than left to flash. The set contains a 50ml bottle, four coating applicators and the instructions, and covers two medium sized cars.

Why it stands out

How to use

  • Wash, decontaminate and polish the paintwork until it is free of scratches and holograms. Work out of direct sun and never on hot panels.
  • Wipe every panel with Sonax Profiline Prepare (02373000) on a clean microfibre cloth to strip polishing oils.
  • Put a few drops onto the application pad and work it in crosswise over about half a square metre, roughly a quarter of a bonnet.
  • Buff the excess off immediately with a Sonax Coating Towel (04511000) until the panel is streak free, then move to the next section.
  • Allow at least 2 hours to cure in a clean, dry environment without touching or wetting the surfaces.

Please note: do not wash the vehicle for the first 7 days after treatment. CC Pro reacts faster than a standard coating, so do not leave it to sit on the paint. If this is your first ceramic coating, CC One is the more forgiving choice.

Sonax UK and Sonax Germany both state up to 4 years from a single coat. Sonax USA market the same product as up to 5 years, which is where that figure comes from. We quote 4 years because that is the official UK claim. Either way the result depends on preparation, a full cure and sensible maintenance washing.

You do not need a trade account or any certification. It is however developed for experienced users, and the coating reacts with the paint faster than most, so the excess has to be buffed off immediately rather than left to flash. If this is your first ceramic coating, CC One is the more forgiving choice.

Sonax state the 50ml bottle is enough for two complete vehicles, which is why the set includes four application sponges. Work in sections of roughly half a square metre, about a quarter of a bonnet, and use only a few drops per section.

The paint must be washed, decontaminated and polished until it is free of scratches and holograms, because the coating locks in whatever finish is underneath. Immediately before coating, wipe every panel with Sonax Profiline Prepare on a clean microfibre cloth. Never apply to hot panels.
