Sonax Profiline CeramicCoating CC Vinyl+PPF is a one step ceramic coating made specifically for coloured vinyl wraps and paint protection film. Its flexible structure bonds with the film and moves with it rather than sitting rigidly on top, which is what separates it from a paint coating. It gives a strong water and dirt repellent effect, deepens the colour and leaves the film pleasantly soft to the touch. It works on both gloss and matt film and does not change the finish, so matt stays matt and gloss stays gloss. The 50ml bottle comes with four application pads.

How to use

  • The film must be absolutely clean. Spray Sonax Profiline Prepare (02373000) onto a soft microfibre cloth and wipe every surface you intend to coat.
  • Dose onto the bright side of an application pad and spread crosswise over about half a square metre, roughly a quarter of a bonnet.
  • Apply evenly. Many films are strongly absorbent, so an uneven spread can leave stains or high spots.
  • Wipe the excess off immediately and streak free with a Sonax Coating Towel (04511000). Swap to a fresh pad if one starts to harden.
  • Allow at least 6 hours to cure in a clean, dry place without touching the surfaces.

Please note: Sonax recommend leaving the coating 12 hours to react completely with the film. Keep the vehicle dry and unwashed over that period.

Yes. Sonax approve it for both glossy and matt films and state that it improves colour depth without altering the shine, so matt stays matt. The bigger risk on matte is uneven application rather than the chemistry, because many films are absorbent. Work about half a square metre at a time and wipe the excess off straight away.

Sonax quote up to 3 years on their North American pages and describe it as a long term effect on the UK and German pages. Real world life depends on how well the film was prepared, how the car is washed and whether it lives outside. A pH neutral shampoo and no harsh traffic film removers will get you closest to the claim.

Yes, for a typical car. The bottle is dosed onto an application pad and spread over roughly half a square metre at a time, about a quarter of a bonnet. The four supplied pads are sized for a full vehicle, and you can swap to a fresh pad if one starts to harden.

It is formulated for the flexible film substrate rather than bare paint, so for paintwork use CC One or CC Pro instead. The flexibility that lets this coating move with a wrap is exactly what makes it a different product from a rigid paint coating.
